DARK SKIES

Being a Huge Horror movie fan i recently went to see the movie DARK SKIES. Can i tell you that this movie Literally scared the Living CRAP outta me! No slow parts here it starts and quickly establishes a sense of familiarity in its normal esq family setting. Then it begins to pick up the pace little by little getting weirder and freakier. Still holding its sense of reality .. like this QUESTION: if you were experiencing something extra - ordinary and unusual and called the cops and they rebuffed you by saying it was most likely your kids... and it rocked everything you knew and understood about your life .. who would you go to? who could you tell? who would help you .. ? these very basic questions about our safety and our innate sense of survival skills is at the very heart of this movie.. because the truth is if it were in fact happening you any one of us no one would help us not the cops or our government or friends or neighbors because they would think like all the rest that we were in fact going crazy. Another key ingredient, the monster.. you know if and when in movies they decide to show the monster full out.. and if not done well ... it kills the fear well in Dark Skies you see it briefly and then again but in the dark its merely a Dark shadow esq with just barely there dimensions that you have to instantly turn on your ZOOM HIGH POWERED FOCUS LENSES ON from your eyeballs to see it and when you do it is devastatingly terrifying. I literally jumped almost out of my chair at least twice in this movie and hadn't had a good scare like that in a movie for quite some time now. Dark Skies definitely pulls rank and steps into the top 5 best horror films for UFO's/ Alien Abduction movies of all time .. For me i think it bumped Fire and the sky the fourth Kind and Close encounters to take its place at the #1 Spot. Go see it!
